Football Roundup: Broncos Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

During a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Denver Broncos clinched a close victory over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz provided the game-winning decisive three-pointer to seal the ugly win.

Defensive Performance Seals Contest

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after conceding a safety in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 total net yards throughout the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard field goal with approximately five minutes remaining.

Record Difficulties for Jets Attack

In spite of their dismal performance, the Jets maintained the ball with a opportunity to drive for a potential winning score. But Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion instead of sending out specialist Nick Folk for a long kick.

Fields had difficulties throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the fewest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach commented following the game.
